A user modified an Inkscape plugin to work with BoXZY's laser and allow you to use vector files, here is the link:

https://github.com/walterhsiao/thlaser-inkscape-plugin/tree/boxzy

Information about installing it into Inkscape from what I've found:

"Installing is as simple as copying the script (unless it resides in your path) and its INX file to the inkscape/share/extensions ($HOME/.config/inkscape/extensions) directory. (If you install a script in your home directory be sure to copy the dependencies.)" -from Inkscape Wiki-

You can use direct gcode files by simply clicking - file - open - and selecting the gcode filefile inside BoXZY's interface.
