Image Opens Larger Than FIle Used

I am having an issue occasionally when I open a file to be engraved. Sometimes when I open a project it is much larger than the file size. I verify in my software the image is the correct size. The scale is 0.100 and does not effect the image. How do I get the image to open the right size every time?

Comments:

I didn't mention before that I use an older version of Photoshop Elements. Once I found where to change the resolution I had success with the answer below.

chances are the ppi are different between the files you’re seeing issue with.

from the help files: 2.2 Laser Etching with BoXZY

  • Scaling your image. When preparing an image to etch, you want to scale your image relative to BoXZY's native resolution: 254 pixels per inch (ppi). You can set image resolution in your image editor.
  • Sizing your image. When sizing your image file, remember that 1 pixel = 0.1mm to BoXZY. For example, if you want your etch to be 20mm wide, you'll need to create an image file that is 200 pixels wide.
