Is there a wiring diagram for the laser?

Laser didn't work. Opened it up (bye bye warranty;) and there is a white tinned wire hanging loose. Looked for evidence of where it went under magnification but couldn't find anything.

There is a warrany on BoXZY?

by

Hi Ken, yes, if you have a problem with a component from normal use on BoXZY you can send it back to them and they'll fix it or send a replacement part.

Yep, mine had a total failure that I could not fix, I sent it back to its birthplace and they fixed it. Unfortunately, it still randomly disconnects even with the shielded USB cable the updates etc.

Kind of frustrating.

It was the white "ground" wire. Must have been loose from shipping. Works fine now.

The white wire is a ground wire. It simply needs to be grounded to the cylinder and nothing else. It is what allows the case to be detected when installed. When you plug the laser in does it recognize it as the laser in the log? If you're not clear what I'm talking about, there is a "toggle log " feature in the interface. It shows at the bottom of the page and when you plug in an attachment it should show it recognizes it. If that does not show up, the white wire would likely be the issue. Otherwise, it will be something else.

Chris,

Can you take a picture of what you have, I can open my module and see where the wire goes to.

I don't have a schematic, but I do have a working engraver. So I should be able to tell where the wire pulled out of for you.

Ken
