How to focus the laser to smallest point
Step 4 in the quick-start for laser etching doesn't talk about focusing the laser beam. The laser has a small lens on the bottom and the small black cylinder can be twisted to focus the laser image.
I found that the laser with Alignment ON could be adjusted to a fine point on the piece to be engraved (in Step 5). The Alignment ON option is not very bright, so the laser goggles are not required to do this adjustment of the laser beam focus.
So is this Alignment focus of the laser beam the appropriate laser focus for the actual laser etching?
I think it is because I got finer details in an etch on wood after doing this than what I got initially with the factory setting (tape was over the small black cylinder when BoXZY arrived).
If so, I suggest the Quick-Guide document be updated to help the new users.
Is this a good question?
