clicking with z axis movement

Versions of this question have been floating around, but my issue is only occurring at certain locations. When the z axis moves downward from home, it clicks 4 or 5 times when it gets close to the lowest height (140 to 165). Moving back to home it sometimes clicks near the top of the movement, but only once. Listening closely, I think it's the z rod bearing furthest from the home position. I don't think it's the motor, at least it didn't get any louder when I propped the printer up to listen closely.

Any idea what's causing this? Again, it only happens at the lowest height along the z axis, and clicks 4 to 5 times with the final click being the loudest. Tested with:

G0 Z0 F3000

G4 P1000

G0 Z165 F3000

G4 P1000

repeated 10 times.

Have you tried loosening the Z flanged bearings and carefully retightening them? Sometimes they can be tightened in such away it pushes them in one direction against the rail, not giving enough room for the bearings to recirculate quietly.

Bingo. Flipped it over, and had to struggle to get the bolts to loosen. It was insanely tight! All is well in the clicking department. Thanks!
