Sample milling file for testing

Do you have a sample file that I can use to test my unit?

Hi, I asked about files used to do demo objects we saw in the kickstarter campaign. They said yes, but only gave a link to Thingiverse: I hope that they will give some files so that we can easily test our units, as you & I wish.

I've downloaded a few .gcode files to try a test run... they always appear on the 0,0 black point. What can be done to center and display it?

Hi David,

You probably are long past this point by now, but I ran into the same problem where all I really wanted was some basic file, (I had no idea what a "G-code" was), and all I could find were tutorials, videos and places wanting to sell me these mythic G-code files. I finally landed on a website called "Cerebral Meltdown" where they had a couple of simple faces, (one an alien head, the other a happy face), already written in G-code so that all I had to do was download it and run it. Here's their website address

I dropped the file in and, (with my hand practically resting on the big red OFF button), ran the file and the Boxzy milled away. I hope this helps...either you, or someone else with the same question.

The first thing I am going to do when I get mine is make a simple design with a pocket and then figure out how to output that to the machine. First time through no stock. Just watch it cut air with my finger on the e-stop. See if things look like the simulation. Then start putting in blocks of wood and learn how to pick up the edge. There are lots of fusion cam tutorials on you tube. Try Lars Christenson, a bit slow paced but very informative.

Not helpful to the question.. which appears "answered"... when in fact it is not. It would be great to have a test gcode file to practice with.
