What do I do if I run out of filament before the model is completed?

Should I do some kind of special cleansing if I´m not going to start a new printing right away?

If I run out of filament before the model is completed I understand the model gets ruined, but what about the nozzle? Do I need to clean it in some special way?

Should I just stop it and start a new model next time?

Do I perform a software emergency stop or a real red button stop?

Thanks

You don't need to do anything special if you run out of filament, except that you want to pull the remaining filament out of the filament tube by disconnecting the tube from the filament drive (you may need to warm it up). If it's left for an extensive period of time without filament moving, it can eventually lead to a clog, but most of the time it's not a problem. If you see you are running low during a print, you can usually just pause the print and once it pauses (it takes a little bit), pull the remaining plastic and insert new filament all the way to the nozzle then press resume. It may give a little blob or small void.
