How do I add a slicer program like Slic3r Prusa edition?

Hello, Mike here

I noticed that the CuraEngine used to slice files is from 2007 (outdated).

I want to use a more modern slicer that allowed me to rotate the part. I was able to change the slicer from CuraEngine to Slic3r Prusa Edition, but while I could get "Slic3r Prusa Edition" to slice the file, I could not get that information pumped back into Repetier.

Is there anything I need to do to set the Slicer to "Slic3r Prusa Edition" and have it work seamlessly with Repetier the way that the CuraEngine does?

Thank you.

(P.S: I wanted to use the "Prusa Slic3r" because it allowed me to rotate my STL file so I could print it from a more favourable angle)

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

With the BoXZY interface you can rotate parts no matter what slicer you are using, via the object placement tab. You can also scale them and move them in relation to the platform prior to slicing; all from the object placement tab.

The Cura software is the latest modern version. The license it operates under was filed in 2007.

I am not sure what you mean when you say that Slic3r prusa edition is not operating seamlessly. When you slice with any of the available slicers, it should automatically load the gcode into the print preview tab, and allow you to press print to start your print. Is this not happening for you? Or is something else operating strangely?
