You guys will be aware that 360 is less than ideal if you want to vary fonts, and also print large amounts of text. If I wanted to engrave the text from a page of a book on a piece of wood, or engrave larger fonts. How would you suggest I do this with the Boxzy?

Laser: scan the page, adjust settings for sharpest results, burn.

CNC mill: Find a digital copy of the page (pdf, ebook, etc), copy the text into inkscape, convert text to path, port into fusion as a vector file, work from there.

Thanks. Will give that a go.

To engrave something with the laser, try starting with this guide:

2.2 Laser Etching with BoXZY

To mill out a sign, you'll need to design the sign you want in a CAD program like Fusion 360, then use the CAM tools to generate tool paths, output the gcode, and mill with boxzy.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Are there any other options to 360. This is not ideal for fonts and high word count.

I've only used Fusion 360 for milling, not laser. If you have an image of the page you can simply laser engrave it as a picture. Do you have a picture of what you're trying to engrave?

I would be lasering text. E.g. a page from a book.
