Running BoXZY in a Windows 7 VM in VMware Fusion

I've been trying to setup BoXZY in a Windows 7 VM in Fusion on my Mac, but am not having any luck.

I've verified that COM1 has a baud rate of 115200 as well as the printer setting in BoXZY, and have connected the USB to the VM, but I no connection.

Have anyone else been successful? I saw a post about having trouble with Windows 7, so I might try Windows 8 to eliminate that.

Your COM port is wrong.

I have the same setup as you, and when I plug BoXZY in and power it up, it appears as COM3.

Did you install Arduino software as described? Did you connect BoXZY to the Windows VM?

Look at the devices in your system, you should see a new COM port after BoXZY is correctly plugged in and powered up.

I installed the Arduino software and connected the USB to the VM, but I don't get a new COM port. I'll try reinstalling the Arduino software...

Here is what my devices look like:

Make sure the power switch next to the USB port on BoXZY's electronics is on, the key is on, the red power mushroom is up (twist to free it), the power supply light is on... Is the USB port connected to the right VM?

I ended up installing Windows 8 and then it worked for me.

When I used Windows 7 the COM port didn't show up when I inserted the USB cable, but switching the USB connection to Windows 8 made the COM port show up. I blame Microsoft :)
