possible blown circuit board. Help!

I was troubleshooting a faulty Stepper Driver (the X axis stopped working properly) and was swapping the X and Y drivers to isolate the cause. The problem followed the driver quite nicely thank you. (The issue was that the X motor would sometimes stop or even start going in the wrong direction when manually commanding the movement ).

In my troubleshooting though. the last time that I inserted the X Driver, I managed to insert it incorrectly. It was misaligned by one set of pins.

Now, after correcting this mistake, the USB cable does not show any connection on the PC, and the Boxzy Interface does not enable the controls. It appears as if the Circuit board is not connected. Under Device Manager, there is no indication that the USB cable is being plugged in. I have tried it on more than one PC.

When I plug in the USB cable, the green light LED5V lights briefly but then goes out. I think I recall that normally this light is one whenever the cable is connected.

Is it likely that my incorrect insertion of the Stepper Drive could have blown the Circuit board? What troubleshooting do you suggest be done to verify what needs to be replaced?

Thanks in anticipation of advice.
