Communication Timeout - reset send buffer block

I’ve been through all of the steps listed on the other post with the same issue, but nothing has fixed it. I’ve tried different baud rates (always matched between boxzy interface and the arduino settings in device manager), I’ve tried different COM ports, I’ve tried updating permissions for both arduino and boxzy interface to "everyone can do everything, and I’ve tried the good old fashioned “turn it off and on again”.

What else can I try? It’s been a while since I last fired up my boxzy, and I have no intention in it becoming a paperweight!

Have you tried a different computer? Is everything powering up properly? Does it work initially or at all?

Alrighty, just gave it another go with my laptop and it was even weirder! I tried plugging in the USB from Boxzy to the laptop, then the track pad started going nuts! I unplugged it, reset everything, restarted the computer, and then plugged it all back together again. Same track pad issue: when trying to use the track pad, the cursor will follow along in the same direction, but then jerks to some random far corner of the screen. I have a touch screen, so I was still able to open the boxzy interface software, but when I tried pressing Connect, the software froze.

I'm using a USB with that magnetic cylinder on it, if that helps. What could be happening?

It's likely a damaged motor driver, fan, power supply, heater cartridge, or a short on one of those items; all of them use high switching frequencies and can blow out tons of EMI. Check the heastinks, they may be touching pins on the driver. I would turn off the machine and disconnect one of each possible component until the mouse acts properly (replacing each one before trying a new one). Does the mouse pad act crazy when no head is plugged in? How about the power station, when atleast 16" away from the pad, turned on but not plugged into to BoXZY, does it make the pad act up by itself?

When you do locate the issue, there is a firmware update available for your machine that fixes some of the old random communication problems: Updating Your Firmware

Alright! After updating the firmware it works! I'm still getting weird feedback from boxzy on my tablet, though. I use Boxzy with my desktop, so I'm not so worried, but should I be?

Thanks for getting things running again :)

Very weird behavior I would worry about, but your likely gonna get a little weird behavior on a touch screen near, or plugged into, the machine. The motors are basically large electrified magnets, connected to large metal frame, and anytime you put a magnet near a touchscreen things can get a little off.
